COMPOUND EYE - SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM

Yuvabharathi Public School empowers future leaders with stimulating learning environment and state-of-the-art amenities.

We are glad to share that Yuvabharathi's Tinkering Team Project - COMPOUND EYES-SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM bagged the first prize and cash award INR 30,000 at Coimbatore Science and Technology Festival 2019, one of the biggest Science Fairs of Coimbatore, conducted on the 6th and 7th of January 2019 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore. "Compound eyes" deals with a surveillance bot for home security system providing security for residences that are prone to wild cat attacks.

People living in areas like the Nilgiris, Valparai, Coonoor face wild animal attacks during nighttime. Pets and other domestic animals are killed by wild animals like leopards that visit their houses during nighttime. Our prototype by name COMPOUND EYES uses microcontroller based mini car that uses an App to send alerts via Wi-Fi to its owner/forest officers or forest rangers on detecting the leopard inside the premises of a building. On identifying the presence of the wild animal like leopard, an alert will be sent to the residents by “Compound eyes” so that they may remain safe inside. Meanwhile, the alerted forest officials can come to the rescue of the residents.

Maruthu Paandiyan, Shabesa K A, Rishi Menon of 9th grade were the Think Tanks of the project. The three kids have been part of the ATL for the past 3 years in our school. Special thanks to Tommy - the cat which substituted the wild cat for this prototype. Hearty thanks to Atal Innovation Mission! Congratulations to Mr. Anand Jeyasingh and the team!
