The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is a flagship initiative set up by NITI Aayog to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across the length and breadth of the country. As part of these efforts, Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) are being set up in schools across the country to promote creative, innovative mind set in the students.

Since the inception of the lab, the students have worked with various kinds of sensors and kits. Working with these technologies proved to be not only an incredible learning experience but provided great exposure to the students. The students could also explore areas like assembling drones, automatic sewing machine, aerospace technologies through the various ATL kits. The students have also been trained in different kinds of drill work, soldering and 3D printing as these skills are pivotal for most of the projects.

Students started participating in competitions organised in city. As we progressed our journey in the ATL, the students became more aware and curious about technology and innovation, and the teachers felt more confident and responsible. ATL activities really improve the way students approach a problem, making a solution after many iterations and developing a working prototype to meet the expectation. Participating in events really help the children improve their technical skills. We would like to use this opportunity to thank the Atal Innovation Mission for providing us all the required infrastructure to reach and win in competitions at the international level.

The learning at the lab has greatly improved their approach towards problem solving. This is quite evident with their rising participation in various competitions at the district level. Thanks to ATL, the students are exploring their innovative and creative side and turning their ideas into reality.
